This stop is straightforward - we get acquainted with a versatile cleaning paste, similar to Gumption or Jif.
At Under Your Sink, we call it 'Laundry Butter Cleaning Paste' because, once whipped, it resembles buttercream - fitting, as that was the original name for this timeless recipe.
But don’t be misled by the name! It’s not just for laundry; in fact, that's where I use it the least.
This will be your bathroom go-to, especially for tackling grout, soap scum, and water deposit buildup.
That said, it's incredibly versatile—perfect for cleaning the oven, non-aluminium pots and pans, windows, BBQs, outdoor furniture, and even as a laundry wash.
To help you get started with this amazing paste, I've created a pre-mixed product - you just need to add boiling water. This allows you to test it out, experiment, and then come back for more when you're ready (and you will be!).
Of course, you can also make the paste yourself! That's why we recommend having all the ingredients on hand eventually. But for beginners, this pre-mixed solution is the perfect starting point.
Unlike Jif or Gumption, you can customise this paste! Adding essential oils makes it a real winner, offering a far more pleasant cleaning experience compared to fume-filled, toxic cleaners like Domestos.
Supercharge your paste by adding some Percarbonate from your Laundry Kit (the soak and stain remover). Just a dash of boiling water will make the paste bubble, infusing your mix with the powerful cleaning action of hydrogen peroxide.
