How to make your own Dishwasher Tablets
Making your own dishwasher tablets can be an easy and cost-effective way to keep your dishes clean without relying on store-bought products that may contain harmful chemicals.
Here is a simple recipe for making your own dishwasher tablets at home.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup Washing Soda
- 1/2 cup Sodium Percarbonate
- 1-2 tablespoons Coconut Soap Flakes
- Approx. 20ml water
TOOLS
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cup
- Ice cube tray
- Airtight container for storage
MAKES
Approx. 12-16 tablets based on a standard ice cube tray
INSTRUCTIONS
- Combine all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl taking care not the breathe the raised dust.
- Add the essential oil drops and slowly add water to the mixture until it resembles wet sand.
- Press the mixture firmly into ice cube trays or a silicone mould of your choice.
- Leave the mixture to dry for at least 24 hours or until hard.
- Pop the tablets out of the mould and store them in an airtight container.
For best results
- Use a hot wash cycle
